Conscientious, Fulfilled, and Spiritual

16 Renaissance, -3 Islamic, 11 Ukiyo-e, -26 Cubist, -18 Abstract and -8 Impressionist!

The Renaissance was a cultural movement that profoundly affected European intellectual life. Beginning in Italy, and spreading to the rest of Europe by the 16th century, its influence affected literature, philosopy, religion, art, politics, science, and all other aspects of intellectual enquiry. Renaissance artists looked at the human aspect of life in their art. They did not reject religion but tended to look at it in it's purest form to create visions they thought depicted the ideals of religion. Painters of this time had their own style and created works based on morality, religion, and human nature. Many of the paintings depicted what they believed to be the corrupt nature of man.

People that like Renaissance paintings like things that are more challenging. They tend to have a high emotional stability. They also tend to be more concientious then average. They have a basic understanding of human nature and therefore are not easily surprised by anything that people may do. They enjoy life and enjoy living. They are very aware of their own mortality but do not dwell on the end but what they are doing in the present. They enjoy learning, but may tend to be a bit more closed minded to new ideas as they feel that the viewpoint they have has been well researched and considered. These people are more old fashioned and not quite as progressive. They enjoy the finer things in life like comfort, a good meal, and homelife. They tend to be more spiritual or religious by nature. They are open to new aesthetic experiences.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't have a lust for power. I just like to overthrow stupid people in power and replace them with someone better...preferably someone chosen by me. :)

Your result for The Who Would You Be in 1400 AD Test...

The Usurper

You scored 53% Cardinal, 23% Monk, 35% Lady, and 54% Knight!

You have both the lust for war of the Knight and the wicked morals of the Cardinal. You are truly a dangerous one who likes power and will stop at nothing to get it. If the king dares stand in the way of your ambitions you will have no qualms about removing him from the throne and placing yourself there instead.

You scored high as both the Knight and the Cardinal. You can try again to get a more precise description of either the Cardinal or the Knight, or you can be happy that you're an individual.

Your result for Reincarnation Placement Exam...

Spy

70% Intrigue, 59% Civilization, 59% Humanity, 40% Urbanization.

Live well, ride fast, and die young, baby!

Well, you turned out to be something of a rogue. This may not be exactly the life you wanted... but it's difficult to place people who want to enjoy all the romance and intrigue of civilization, without actually having a demanding job. Besides, since you enjoy the benefits of humanity so much more than you enjoy the press of humanity itself... you shouldn't have much trouble with your role in life. As long as you aren't afraid of danger there's a place for you in society, even if it's a rather dark and wicked place. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to fulfill the role of a spy.

The good news: You're free and clever, and you can do whatever the heck you want. The bad news: everybody else is free and clever too, and they're not all on your side.

With the flick of a blade, you can change the course of history. Might be fun. Might be a little messy.

You are Set (Seth or Sutekh). Set is the god of Chaos. At certain points in Egyptian history, he was looked upon as evil. In others, he was the only one strong enough to slay the uncreated at the prow of Ra's night-barque. He embodies the chaos necessary to bring about change, and the power of the unknown. He is portrayed as a man with the head of an unknown canid, or sometimes in the full form of this unknown canid. I Am A: Neutral Good Human Ranger (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-16

Dexterity-15

Constitution-14

Intelligence-15

Wisdom-16

Charisma-15

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Your home is a

Your kitchen is only used when the weather won't permit barbecuing. There's a pantry stocked with beef jerky. Oh, and deer jerky. Your master bedroom has an on-call masseuse and sports therapist. Your study has a locked plexiglass gun case filled with stuff that would make the A-Team jealous. And Al Qaeda. One of your garages houses your Hummer, and others contain your H2, and H3... with room for an H4, if they ever invent one.

Your home also includes a roost for griffons. You've never actually seen a griffon, but you keep the roost ready anyway. Your guests enjoy your home theater with 37 different sports channels. Outside is the moat that protects your home from goblin invaders and extended family.

And, you have a pet -- a unicorn named "Shadowhooves".

Your Score: The Fallen Angel

You scored 47% Pride, 52% Envy, 65% Ambition, and 45% Deceitfulness!

You are the Fallen Angel, one of the angels who left their first estate and now reserved in chains in everlasting darkness. Basically, you left heaven to get some tail. Thats right, you thought some women were so beautiful, that you left heaven to have sex with them. Well some certainly are beautiful, but you gotta draw the line somewhere, geez! Based on your personality, it seems you may have left heaven for two reasons, besides the endless supply of human females. Reason 1: You are ambitious and you got tired of being a servant of God. Instead, you wanted to make your own kingdoms so others could serve you. Reason 2: You are a jealous person, and may have taken a certain joy out of corrupting Gods creation. You are a straightforward villain, and you didnt try to deceive God in your evildoings. Basically, you told God, "it is what it is". In the end, God decided that you had to go, and you humbly accepted the punishment mentioned at the beginning of this description.

Poem meme! [Aug. 30th, 2007|08:23 am]
[Tags|]

Stolen from [info]sprockey

It's hard to pick a favorite poem, and if I were to ask for one, I know I would drive folks crazy who weren't sure, (i.e. I like poem A more than poem B, but poem C really defines me as a person, but everybody knows that one, maybe I should share the lesser known poem D. AHHHHH!).

Instead, share a poem you never get tired of. That's much simpler, also suits folks like me who don't read an awful lot of poetry. Post in comments, for I wish to broaden my literary horizons and learn something new about y'all at the same time.

All I ask is:
1. No epic poetry. Keep it reasonable.
2. Titles and authors if you know `em.
3. Something that somebody other than you wrote. :P

One that I've always loved, for some twisted reason:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

-William Butler Yeats, "The Second Coming"
